  • One RDO (Rostered Day Off) per month

  • EBA Level 3.1 ($79,688.03 +12% Super)

The opportunity

The WHS Business Support Officer will assist in building effective OHS management programs and initiatives supported by systems and processes to measure their success as part of driving GMCT’s safety culture.

The WHS Business Support Officer will provide support and assistance to the OHS team across all activities, whilst ensuring excellence in customer service and OHS reporting, as well as the end-to-end coordination of a range of OHS initiatives.

 

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Providing direct day-to-day administration support to the WHS team with respect to the completion of administration processes in a timely and efficient manner, with excellent attention to detail
  • Perform minute taking function in OHS committee meetings and supervisor meetings as required
  • Monitor Daily Incidents Statistics and ensure they are triaged in a timely manner
  • Complete and maintain documentation in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, and quality standards requirements and contribute to continuous improvement based on your level of expertise.
  • Compile and maintain detailed WHS monthly statistics, reports and information as required for review by the Workplace Health and Safety Manager
  • Promote, build and maintain good communications and working relationships within work units and across other GMCT departments.

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar or comparable role.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to apply these with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A tertiary qualification in a related discipline is desirable
